Vegetarian bento box ideas?
I have 2 bento boxes, with compartments arranged very much like this one:

I would like to use them for a japanese meal, no meat, poultry, fish, or seafood, but dairy and eggs are ok. No carrots. Do you have any suggestions? I need help to choose items that will all balance and work together. I definitely want to use a sweet tamagoyaki, but what else can be put with that?
I do enjoy fried tofu.
I would use the lower right compartment for your tamagoyaki, and use the sauce-cup for wasabi-soy. In the upper right, I’d have a simple cucumber salad with a peanut dressing, and maybe some cold tofu. In the upper middle, why not build up to the tamagoyaki with some tamago, which comes closer to sushi than a bland veggie roll would.
In the upper-left (as a palate cleanser) insert a small bowl of miso. For the main course, make a soba noodle dish (hot or cold) with egg and the fried tofu. The tofu and egg are consistent themes, while you get to hit on many of the major styles of japanese cooking.
